Eynsham's first Apple Festival

Eynsham's first Apple Festival was held on Oct 16th. Over 400 people came. It was organised by GreenTEA. There was a speech (short), a song, a poem - and lots of sharing, talking, tasting (with recipes), marvelling (35 varieties on show) and learning (about pruning, grafting, preserving, storing, cooking, identifying). There was juicing - and instantly drinking the results. There were games (like apple-dunking) and competitions and prizes. There were maps - of the past (Eynsham orchards in 1885) and the future - where public fruit trees could be planted around the village. At the end there was a tour of existing orchards.
